Palliative Care

You don't have to figure this out alone.

Palliative care is expert support for pain, decisions, and difficult conversations — alongside any treatment your loved one is already receiving. Not instead of it.

Serious illness is already hard enough.
You shouldn't have to navigate it without a guide.

Palliative care is a medical specialty — board-certified physicians, nurses, and counselors trained specifically in managing pain, guiding difficult decisions, and supporting everyone around a patient, not just the patient. We work alongside your oncologist, cardiologist, or primary doctor. We don't replace them.

Five people. Five answers. One team that shows up together.

Scroll to meet each specialist — and the fear they're here to quiet.

A question families ask us

"Will my parent be in pain?"

Dr. Elena Vasquez

MD · Board Certified in Palliative Medicine · 14 years

Pain management is the foundation of everything we do. From the first visit, I assess what your parent is experiencing — not just physical pain, but the anxiety and breathlessness that often travel with it — and we adjust until they're comfortable.

I work directly with your parent's oncologist or cardiologist to ensure medications are coordinated, not competing. Most families tell us the first week changes everything.

"My job is to make sure pain never gets ahead of us. We stay one step ahead, always."

A question families ask us

"Will I understand what's happening?"

Marcus Osei

NP-C · Palliative Care Certified · 9 years

I translate. Medical teams speak in diagnoses and percentages — I sit with families and explain what that actually means for Tuesday, for next month, for the conversation you need to have with your siblings.

I'm usually the person you'll speak with most often. I'm reachable, I return calls the same day, and I don't use words you have to Google afterward.

"Nobody should leave a doctor's appointment more confused than when they arrived. That's what I'm here to prevent."

— Marcus

A question families ask us

"Who do I call at 2 a.m.?"

Priya Nair

LCSW · Palliative & Hospice Certified · 11 years

You call us. Every Palliate family has a direct line that reaches a clinical team member after hours — not a call center. When the fear spikes at midnight, someone who knows your family's situation answers.

I also help with the practical weight: insurance navigation, family meetings when there's disagreement, and connecting you with community resources so this illness doesn't bankrupt the family caring for it.

"The 2 a.m. call is real. We plan for it from the very first visit."

A question families ask us

"Can we still pursue treatment?"

James Whitfield

Board Certified Chaplain · Interfaith · 17 years

Yes. Palliative care is not hospice, and it is not giving up. You can receive chemotherapy, cardiac interventions, or any curative treatment alongside our care. We help align treatment with what the patient actually wants — which sometimes means more treatment, sometimes less.

I work with patients on the deeper questions: what makes life worth living, what they're afraid of, what they want the people they love to know. These conversations don't take away hope. They often restore it.

"I've sat with people at the end of life for seventeen years. The ones with the least regret talked about what mattered most — while there was still time."

— James
